We just got offered a 456M GT with only 4500 miles on it. I suspect we could get it at a really good price.

i'm really looking for real world experience here.

Is it fast? Fun to drive? True ferrari/exotic feel or dumbed down? Good ride? Reliable enough to use daily? Super high maintenance costs? Can a normal sized suitcase fit in the trunk? Adult passengers in the backseat? etc.

This would most likely be used as a daily driver to complement our GT2 P-car.

At what price is it a very good deal?

Fast, very fast...sort of a sleeper car with the 6 speed, I've had mine for 4 years...one major service, couple of oil changes. Rear seat, OK for kids and people under 5"10 with similar sized people up front...much more room than a Porsche

What year, I assume it's a 1999+? Price ?? look on EBAY, Ferarri newsletter and Dupont for comparison. FYI, I love my car and those who have them do as well, but you should know the 2+2 buyers fall into a small group of F car buyers so once you buy it it may be some time before you can sell it if you decide to get out of it in a year or two.

GT is the way to go over GTA. 456M is a much better car than an earlier 456

I was offered 01 456M GT with 8000 miles, black/tan, shields, tubi, daytona with black stripes and black piping for $125k

    Fast? I'd say so.

    Fun to drive? Definitely.

True ferrari/exotic feel? I don't know what you mean here. It is not a Testarossa, if you are into that 80's wedge thing you won't like it. It's subtle, which personally I like.

Good ride? Yes, and it's adjustable. I find that the soft setting works well on speed bumps and nasty pavement around town, while medium and hard work well on the interstate and for more spirited driving.

Reliable enough to use daily? Yes, in my experience (only had mine for about 9 months).

Super high maintenance costs? Depends on what you are used to, but yes, on balance. No worse than any other Ferrari, IMO.

Normal sized suitcase in the trunk? Yes, assuming you are not referring to those hard-sided Samsonite things from the 70s (and even one of those would fit, I would guess). Any normal soft bags or roller bags will be fine. I have had my wife and two kids on a weekend trip and everything fit without difficulty. There is really much more room in there than it appears at first glance.

Adult passengers in the backseat? Well, in a pinch. I would not want to ride back there, but I am 6'4". If you are short and they are short, it might work. The backseat does work great for kids.

You didn't say what year, but I would say a very good price would be under $100k. If it is a 2002 or 2003, maybe under $120k. Keep in mind that the late model cars are on a very steep part of the depreciation curve right now-- in a year or so, I bet the top price for a 2003 456M will be under $100k.
