Hey all, my 2000 456m-gta seems to be all over the place on the coolant temp gauge. About 1/4 way during normal driving, and while idling it goes up to 190*. Should it be staying at 190* all the time? Maybe a thermostat is the issue?

Can you be more specific with " all over the place" driving on freeway gauge should be read lower than 190, idling 190 +/- 10-15 degree while fans on and off. any work done on cooling system, check your reservoir for coolant level, check for leaks, water pump, hoses, air in the system. thermostat also.

Sounds normal to me. Ferrari water temperatures drop rapidly as soon as she is moving and there is more airflow through the radiator. They rise rapidly to 190 F when stopped and relying only on the fans for airflow. As long as they stabilize at 190 F, sounds good.

Mine operates just as Taz describes: the 1/4 mark while driving, up to 190 while idling.

Mine barely goes above halfway, even in traffic.
