Have a number of issues with the passenger seat which reading through other posts indicate the seat needs to come out for me to have any hope of fixing. One thread said 4 bolts, another said 6, all said the darn thing was heavy.
Anyway, I removed what appeared to be the 4 bolts, but seems like there is something else holding it in place (other than just the previously stated weight). I am able to lift the passenger seat up slightly at the front, but the back of the seat (picture attached shows door side) is still secured somehow that i can't figure out. Of course it doesn't help that the seat is stuck in the farthest back position (the main problem that I hope to solve).

If I remember properly - bolts (allen type) are in the rail itself - you need to move the track/seat forward as far as possible to access. And yes the seat are VERY heavy.

thanks for the hint but arghhhhhhh the seat won't move forward (bad potentiometer i think) which is the reason I am trying to take it out.

The 4 bolts you need to remove are in the rail itself. One at the front of each rail and one at the rear. The seat has to be moved fore and aft to get at them. The bolts sit on long ovalish washers which also have to be lined up when you put the seat back in otherwise it will not get the full travel. It will take 2 of you to lift them out! If you can't move your seat, you've got a problem with getting at the bolts as it is the seat you need to get out and leave the rails in the car, they do not come out with the seat. There is also an electrical connector block under the seat that needs to be disconnected.

I've given you some bad info. The rails do come out with the seat but it is only the 4 bolts in the rails themselves that you need to undo to achieve that. Sorry, it's a bit early and my brain was not fully in gear!

Since the seat won't move by ordinary means in order for me to get to the bolts in order to remove the seat, is there some type of "free release"? i.e. Can i disengage the seat motor (while the seat is in place) so that i can at least manually slide the seat enough to get access to the bolts inside the rail?
