Hello Can anyone pls help me with what type of oil I shall use and how i shall messure self-levelling system oil level (engine running? warm? cold?) I messured the level today with engine off and it was at the low mark! Regards Paul
The self levelling system uses the same oil supply as the steering - servicing is covered in sections E & F of the owners manual. Basically, the oil should be checked warm, after 10 miles, according to the manual - "The oil level can be considerably under the minimum level indicated if the oil is cold, and even if the quantity is correct". ATF Dexron (Agip brand) is specified.
Thanks Dave My OM is a reprint by Mar Parts and it has no section E & F It actually looks as it only contain section H?? Regards Paul
Hi Paul, Glad to be able to help! You really need to get the complete owners manual - it is very comprehensive, has sections A-N - section H is just the "running instructions" ie how to drive the car. ALL the information required for basic servicing is contained in the OM, with very good illustrations, "how it works" and specifications for fluids etc. If you dont have the original OM, a CD is available. I picked up a CD of the workshop manual from ebay ( not as complete as a proper dealer manual, but better than nothing) that, I think also contained the complete OM - about 30USD. Just checked, still available, contains the OM. Cheers
You can also download an Owners Manual from Ferrari's owner site. It will be in PDF file format and makes for a good reference. And it is free.
Thank you all Yesterday I had a nice drive and chekt the oil level as deskribed and all was OK I have also downloaded the OM from Ferrari Owners site. Reards Paul
