Merry Christmas Everyone God Bless. I have done many repairs so far myself and did try to tackle the belts but Stopped at the tensioner swap. The belts were changed 2 years and covered 1500 miles. I was told bearings were good. However when I was changing the water pump I noticed the left timing tensioner had been fitted wrong and the 2 allen key bolts were loose holding the assembly. Hence my panic to swap out the tensioners. I started with TDC with a mechanic helping me however tensioning the belts Is the main concern for me. We have not tension meter. I will be booking In for a cam degree and new belts with a specialist soon as Im back from Toronto. All timing marks lined up well. The car startes and runs better than before. I have have notice the timing belts run very close to the edge or fences of lower gear pulleys. Is this how they are? Image Unavailable, Please Login
I bought one of theses and clipped it to the Allen bolts by the belts. Worked great. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Great thing about the gates app is it will automatically hold the note and give you a chance to print it to photos just like the first pic above.
Great I followed the WSM method and tested with the gates app however I’m a bit concerned with the lower timing deive gears and the way the belts are sitting near to the edge. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Don't worry about the belt riding near the fence on the lower pulley. It is fairly common. As long as it isn't riding against the fence, then it is fine.
