Well, eureka! I took out my interior for some needed maintenance and found all of the previous "mechanic's" attempts at repairs. One of the main areas of "repair" was the driver's window. Liberal use of dum dum, random glued in plastic, lots of washers, broken clips, cut gaskets, zip ties, missing screws and duct tape. When I reassembled everything correctly, the window would bind while closing. This caused the ECU to limit itself and, even after removing the glass, the motor would not raise completely. I tried the suggestion to disconnect the battery to reset, hold the key in the door lock in position, and even tried removing and reinstalling the ECU. I could hear and feel the ECU stopping the motor before the window had fully raised. What finally did it was the following: Remove the door panel. Remove the ECU (not necessary, but prevents unwanted strain on the cables and connectors.) There are three connectors on the ECU, on one side is the largest connector with power coming from the battery, leave that connected. On the other side of the ECU are two smaller connectors. With power to the ECU, remove the larger of the two connectors. The window drops to the bottom and the ECU is reset and will now learn the top and bottom from the limit stops. My car is a '95 456GT. Now to readjust the window...
Does anyone know where the upper limit stops are located? Thank you Sent from my HUAWEI P7-L10 using Tapatalk
