There was a european contributor who solved the problem of the usual gap at the back of the 456 windows by drilling a hole in the regulator to allow the front of the window to rise higher thereby fixing the problem permanently. Couldnt figure out where to drill from his description. Anyone have a diagram? This apparently is the final solution to the window problem!!!

I just fixed my 456 windows in this manor. I don't have pictures but when you get the door panel off there are 2 small Allen screws on the left a little below center that hold the lower slide track in place. The screws slide in verticle slots in the regulator and there are 4 or 5 alignment marks along the slots for reference. The right hand screw when loosened and pushed to the botton of the slot still needed to go down further in order the align the window correctly. At this point you have 2 options, you can drill a hole about 1/4 inch below the right hand verticle slot and place the screw in that location to lower the track OR extend the slot about 1/2 inch with a saw (this is what I did). The slotted method gives you more adjustment capabilities.
It was amazing, the window sealed with about 1/4 inch of rubber showing between the rear of the window and the front of the quarter window.

Hey guys, my window does not go up all the way...that extra 1/2 inch in my 1995 456 GT. So is that the regulator? Can I use one from another vehicle? Or where can I get one? It’s the driver’s door. Thanks.

    Hi
There's all sort of things that can go wrong with these windows, but in your case I'd start a reset of the window final height.
Close both doors, insert the key in the driver's side door, slowly rotate it aft (top of key facing aft of the car, not sure if you're LHD or RHD) until you hear the doors lock. Continue rotate the key until the window moves upward. Release key immediately when you think the window is high enough and/or when it sits snugly in its seal. Then wait a moment, unlock the door and open and close it. The window should have memorized the new height and all should be well.
If this doesn't work, you're in for further investigation...

Ok will try. Thx a lot. Otherwise what is the cost of the part and labour to fix/adjust?
