I am in the process of purchasing a 1995 456 and have performed a PPI and viewed the car myself. The car has less than 18K miles and had a its 30K major done (and clutch and brakes pads were just replaced). The car is in excellent shape cosmetically and mechanically and all recalls have been done, except for the window seals.

    - The driver side window has a very tiny gap (a credit card can be pushed through). Can this be fixed by adjusting the window?

    - The passenger side window has a slightly larger gap (about 1/8 of an inch or about 3-4 credit cards stacked together). Can this be fixed by adjusting the windows or do the window's regulator and motor have to be changed?

Does anyone know the current costs to fix these problems?

Are there any quick fix solutions?

    I will attach pics later.

The car is $60K, which is IMO a pretty fair price if the windows would have been done. Now I don't know what price is fair (depending on how much the window fix is going to cost).

The window fix was around $10k when they were doing them. Now I am not sure if it can be done at all. Are the kits still available? Also, only certain dealers could do it-- my local dealer, for example, couldn't, and had to ship cars elsewhere for the work.

The windows can be adjusted, and I have heard of people adjusting them frequently and having okay results, but I have also heard of cases where they never were able to get them right, prior to the window fix.
