    Hi,

The driver electric window will stop working after the car is running for 3 to 5 minutes no matter the window is in what position, It will be fine after the car was switched off for 40-60 minutes. I did swap the switch but no luck. The dealer told me is one of the Control Unit which costs US$1.1K.

    Any comment? Tks!

Also, can any 456 owners tell me the cost of the front/rear brake pads and the spark plugs please?

Can't comment on the window problem...have you tried resetting the system? This sometimes helps with windows.

Pads, I used porterfield pads about 275 for all four corners:

    AP 345 R4-S Rear
    AP 561 R4-S Front

NGK Plugs Iridium DCPR9EIX about 4 dollars each.

    Thanks MB,

Apologize for my ignorance. I did disconnect the battery and it doesn't help. Any other way to reset the system?

I was quoted by the dealer at US$1K for the front/rear brake pads(four conners) and US$300 for the 12 spark plugs including labor cost.??

    Hi there,

    What year is your 456?

456s are notorious for this problem. I think it was resolved by either the 2000 or 2001 model year.

Mine is a 94' which had the Windows problem fixed with no gap at all. It is just kind of strange to see the electric window(driver side only) stop working within five minuutes after the car is switched on and works perfectly ok again 30 minutes + after the car was off!

I was so amazed to see the prices difference between the third party brake pads/spark plugs and the original factory ones!

    Cheers

I believe you can reset the window control unit by running the window(s) all the way down and holding the window switch for a few seconds. I think this is in the owner's manual somewhere.

I don't know if this will make any difference for you, but it's worth a try.
