Drove the car last weekend and everything was perfect. I went away for a week, came back and the oil pressure gauge shows zero, the oil pressure light however extinguishes properly, but the engine is making no power. It starts and idles properly but bogs down under load. How can it break parked in the garage? electrical problem?

Byron, if the warning light goes out as it always did then it's most likely either the pressure sender, wiring, or perhaps even the gauge itself. It almost always turns out to be the sender, but in your case the wiring is suspect since you also have the power issue. An obvious possibility is a bad ground somewhere. Any chance rodents could have gotten into the wiring?

No rodents however I do live in Houston ( very humid) and things tend to develop electrical problems. As I indicated, it broke while sitting in the garage while I was out of town. Where is the sender located?
