Firstly i'm not in united states. And i have already got my self a pair of brand new shock absorbers from Ferrari. My question is where to start?Because 456GT have hydraulically managed self levering system and i don't want to ruin it if i'm unplug the hoses etc..

Maybe its just me, but I wouldn't want to damage anything even if the shocks were not controlled by the car compute...

I would recommend a professional shop to replace your rear shocks as they are load leveling and require refill with power steering fluid and then some fiddling to ensure the air is evacuated from the shocks prior to driving.

If they are not load-leveling then the removal/ replacement process is pretty straightforward, just be extra careful when compressing the spring for removal. If in doubt you should leave this to a professional. Remember to measure the exact position of the lower spring mounts to ensure correct ride height and wheel alignment.

    Best,
    Rob

ps, thanks to Tifoso for the recommendation for rebuild services!!

they are leveling, 3-way positions. M had only two.

BTW, just had my Mondial T's two fronts done [one actually broken!!], and they are still high as it takes time to have them settle. Expecting that your two rears when done will be the same, and not to worry.

I cannot give you other advice than warn you to keep in mind that they share the pump and fluids with power steering.
However, they run in separate loops and you should be able to work on them separately. I hope. I have my power steering open at the moment but have not got any alarms from the suspension.
