My 99 GTA has a drivetrain vibration when in Drive and sitting at a stoplight with the brakes on. No rattles or odd sounds, it just vibrates like a 4 cylinder. Put it in neutral and its smooth as silk like a V12 should be. Smooth as silk shifting between park>reverse>drive as well.

I thought it was the engine mounts but I just changed those to 575 mounts. Looking under it, the rear A arm bushings are dry-rotted and one CV boot has a leak. Both will be replaced next month but would be odd to be the source....welcome thoughts on where to look next?

Take a look at the torque converter and transmission mounts. Also, check out the flex disc (or Guibo) connecting the transmission to the driveshaft. If you spot any cracks or wear on that rubber disc, it could be causing vibrations, especially when idling. If it looks worn out, think about swapping it out.

Another suggestion – check out the idle control system. Any hiccups there might be adding to those vibrations at idle. Make sure the idle air control valve is functioning correctly and check for any vacuum leaks.

I had planned on checking the idle control when I do my major this coming summer. Good call on the Guibo + mounts...I had the exact same issue on a E24 when my guibo was giving out.

    Appreciate it!
