My car during idel, not moving, falls to around 500 RPM. Usually is at 700-800 RPM. almost dying, but when I step on the gas, of cause it goes back up, it will not die even if I don't step on the gas paddle. it just makes you worry especially when I am going up hill, Just started acting like this 2 days ago, eveything else seems to be working fine, starts fine also, but the check engine light pops up once awhile. my friend took his OBD II to check for me, it shows 0201 code, what could be the problem? what should I Check? car runs perfect otherwise.

hello,i would start with disconnecting battery, make sure you have proper battery voltage, reconnect, turn key to ON,WAIT about 30 secs, then start, see if idle corrects

P0201 is an injector circuit malfunction on cylinder 1. Those generic codes go through P0212 for cylinder 12 for both OBD II readers and an SD2 factory diagnostic reader. My 575M P Code document lists the same code and malfunction as the generic OBD II list.

OBD-II Check Engine Light Trouble Codes

Diagnostics from the 575M P-Code document:

Possible false contact or injector clogged/blocked open (combustion not perfect, HC and CO
    values out of range)

    Wiring / component intactness check

INJECTION CABLE JOINT TO RH BANK INJECTOR

One thing that cured rough starts and a low idle until my 575M was fully warmed, was a can of Techron fuel injection cleaner. May not cure the problem, but a $12 attempt will not break the piggy bank and will do no harm. After that, if no change, take her to somebody with the correct diagnostic tools. Too much fuel can foul plugs, catalytic converters, etc.

For the past couple of weeks, I had my car parked until I took it out this morning, it was driving fine, I had my foot on the gas paddle going at around 60km , suddenly the car stumbled like it wanted to quit on me again. So I pressed harder on the gas, it was OK for awhile, then I had to go uphill, did the same thing. Then the check engine light came on. So when I got home, plugged in the OBD II, got the code P0102, and the previous code P0201 which I had before was gone. The car felt like it wasn't getting enough gas, fuel pump not pumping enough fuel. But the code is for Mass Air Flow, Try deleting the code with the OBD II, but it came back after 30mins, and same thing happened again. What is going on, new cide , old code no longer exist. What is going on, what is the problem with my car..........l
