Thanks for sharing, Terry. Even though I don't own a 456, I know from experience how hard it is for options catalogues to come along, namely regarding older models. Very interesting information indeed. If you don't mind me asking, can we find similar information regarding our 575s somewhere? Thank you in advance.

    Kind regards,

    Nuno.

Nuno- Already in the 575 Technical Thread. Will be looking to see if anything was missing from the hard copy set I have and posted earlier.

Thanks for posting the info I have only seen bits of it, and as for the colour scheme....
A couple of things that are iteresting and he spares catalogue has all the items.
The badges for the flanks I see a note that the bonnet/hood has recesses for the badges.
The Spare wheel kit is an option! Sadly in Australia at $495K AUD plus on road, new that should have been standard fitment! heaven knows how much the cost was.
The battery charger option uses Cannon quick dissconnect plugs.

Interesting that Red and Yellow are excluded as they are Ferrari's "corporate" colours. I do remember that Ferrari painted a car "Maraschino" red for the owner of that famous cocktail cherry company.

The background of the interior pictures depicts the quilted "250GT" stitching that was optional to the 550, yet I didn't see it described in the brochure, although it's possible I missed it.

Jack- Was also the background for the 360 and 575M. As far as I can tell, it was only available on the 575M. Have never seen it on the other two.

    Hey Taz-

That was very nice of you

I've seen this before, but never the pages articulating the luggage and a couple of oddball things like the dedication plate.

Today there are a wealth of options on the new cars, but funny how only a short time ago all these simple items seemed like a big deal

    Thanks again ;)

Thanks Taz as always. Great stuff. So fun to remember these cars were the lead in luxury and speed. Fastest production cars of their time.

Happy New Year. Will post the correct 456M production numbers tomorrow. The ones in the other thread were from early 2003 and are incomplete.

This might be the wrong place to ask this question, but wasn't there a handling package that was put on maybe 8 or 10 cars as a prototype but never made it into production? I don't suppose any of those cars come out on the market and I don't suppose the parts catalog ever showed those parts as available?

Never heard of a handling package for the 456 or 456M. The Bicolore option did not include any suspension upgrades.
