Does anyone have experience putting a Tubi or other performance exhaust on a 456MGT. The stock unit is somewhat tame. Is there more performance and/or better sound, are there drawbacks?

My 456GT had a Tubi on it when I bought it a few years ago. It sounded cool at idle, but had an unpleasant resonance when cruising around 2,000 RPM. And, after the initial thrill got over, it was way too loud at idle for me.

I went back to the stock exhaust and have been very happy. The 456 is a subtle car, and I felt the subtle stock exhaust was a much better fit. If you drive the car hard and run the revs up, the stock exhaust sounds very nice.

It's a matter of what you like. My 456 had straight pipes when I bought it and my neighbors hated me. I also thought the car sounded crude. The stock mufflers were too quiet. I bought new Tubi's and find them a little loud but not objectionable to about 2000 rpm. Beyond 2000, the sound is perfect and not obtrusive inside at all.

I bought my car (a '98) with Tubis. They sound great to me from idle to redline although at start-up they are surprisingly loud. I've never heard the stock exhaust so I can't compare, but absolutely everyone has told me the stock pipes are too tame.

It's all sonics, however; I don't think anyone claims a performance benefit.

I have tubi's on my 01 456m, night and day, the stock exhaust is pathetic unless your over 70 that is then you might like the lexus quietness LOL! I dont find the Tubi too loud at all. It makes the car sound much better without being obnoxious loud IMO.

I would not have a problem with the sound at 2,000 rpm because I am hardly ever driving at that range! I am always beyond 5000 rpm the whole time I drive!

I researched both Tubi & Fuchs exhaust for my 456 and preferred the Fuchs over the Tubi. The Fuchs had no resonating @ 2,000 and had a little more bite at higher RPMs.
