    My 2011 458 smells funny when I switch the AC on, smells like mold...I have gone through the whole car and there is no sign of anything wet anywhere. Anyone out there have a similar issue?

    Sounds like either the cabin filter and more likely the odor is occurring from old condensation from the evaporator. I would check the cabin filter and/or first try product like Neutra air by Lysol ... with A/C on high (not in recycle mode) spray the product inside air intakes and with air off, spray inside interior vents. It should clear it out.

    I always shut my A/C compressor off about two minutes (just keeping fan on) to dry out some excessive condensation from the system.

    I tried the Duct cleaner and it worked for a bit, now the odor is back. AC cabin filter is new.

    Please be sure to keep the A/C running at all times even when heating. I used to get the kind of smell you described until someone told me to never turn the A/C off - that did the trick.

    It happens if there is excess moisture in the system and the car sits undriven for a week or more. Happened to my lambo when I took it in to body shop for repairs one summer day and it sat for 2 weeks. The fix was to scrub the system cost me like 1k. They say if the car is going to sit for a while after running ac then you should turn system off and run fans for few minutes before shutting car down to dry out the systems
