searched but didn't find any discussion of this.. Anyone know if you can retrofit the backup camera into the 458 if it wasn't ordered with it ? Not talking about aftermarket camera's with displays, but to actually order the ferrari backup camera or whomever makes it for them (harman/becker ???) and have it connected and recognized that a backup camera is now present and will switch the 3rd screen to rear view when backing up ?

I know in previous F cars they used becker and rebranded Clarion products. Just wondering if this is something that can be added to a car that was originally ordered without it.

for the factory one or "aftermarket" as in aftermarket with separate screen and different camera ? you can always retrofit an aftermarket unit in any vehicle - I'm wondering about one that will either be the OEM one or act just like the oem one (show up on the 3rd screen and engage in reverse).

    It can be done.

Parts alone are about $10K - new rear bumper cover, the camera unit itself, plus R&R, paint/prep, etc. So I'd guess $12-14K done well?

(I've seen a car that came without the camera, suffered a mild rear-ender, owner decided to put the camera on as part of the repair).

You might consider looking for a parts car with the rear bumper/camera combo

yeah - probably not worth it at that point lol. . . was thinking a camera that they have on license brackets that would act like the OEM camera. . . bumper/harness retrofit is probably beyond what one would want to do. Thanks.

Aftermarket...images went right to the rear view mirror which I prefer.
Instead, I saved the $ and just turn my head.

I was told it could be done buuuuuut the whole display would have to be sent to Florida to get worked on for it to work through the Navi screen. Found this out while looking at a Spider that I loved but 2-3 things that I absolutely needed one of which was the camera.
