So I've read a bunch of posts regarding the subject and while relevant, some newer options seem to exist as far as battery replacements are concerned.

Interstate MTX-48/H6 or Antigravity? The Braille is just too much $ for a battery and I don't see a reason for the expense. The Antigravity is certainly more than the Interstate and might be worth the expense for a lighter and more powerful L-ion battery. Thoughts? Is the AG reliable?

On another related topic, the physical removal of the battery is partially blocked by the forward console leather trim panel. Is there an easy way to remove the battery without having to remove the trim panel?

Antigravity is the way to go. I didn't have to remove any trim to pull out the old battery.... just a little more difficult due to the weight. Antigravity slides right in. Make sure you get a new CTEK charger and plug adapter. Well worth the money. All in, you should be about $1k.

As stated - Antigravity - My Dealer replaced my original factory battery with the OEM one when I did my first annual in 2020 after buying the car in 2019 (2014 458 Spider) - Was already in for the Annual so just easy to do and reasonably inexpensive. OEM works fine but since I store my cars in units without power I have to do the portable power unit/Battery Tender dance if the car has not been driven for a while - not a big deal but I plan to replace with the Antigravity next year - Cheers :)

I have a Braille AGM in my 488 and it’s been rock solid for two years (it is religiously on a tender). It’s been flawless and I’ve got zero reservations recommending the Braille AGM to another owner.

Next go around I’ll probably go with an Antigravity. I have one of those in my UTV and it’s been tough as nails even while powering a plow and salting my 1/2 mile long driveway, that little battery packs a punch! As others have correctly stated you will need a new tender for a lithium ion battery in your Ferrari.

I will never understand why people line up to pay $1100 for a car battery. I put a NAPA AGM battery in mine a couple of months ago. $229 retail. $170 for me after a family member's employee discount.

I can replace this thing 5 times for the price of one Antigravity. And it has a 3-year warranty.

The securing bolt on the left side of the battery is blocked by the trim panel. I suppose I can undo the right side and wiggle the battery out. Or maybe I'm missing an easier way. Where did you source your AG?

Thank you. Seems like a lot of folks like the AG. Finding one might prove difficult.

How long have you had the AG in your UTV?

Exactly! While not as "fancy" as the AG, I can get one under $300 and probably have it the next day. Seems as if I might have to wait for the AG. And I have a 458 that doesn't want to start on a reliable basis... The weather is nice and I'm afraid of driving it too far and running the risk of getting stuck...

The only reason I am doing the AG is due to the auto-start capability since I don't have power at my storage unit - Otherwise I would stick with the $300 factory/OEM battery or a suitable replacement like NAPA as @Challenge recommended -

Yeah - As others have said the AG is badass if you get in a situation where the battery can run down - and I think it is lighter but who really cares - If you have access to power just get a normal battery and keep it on the Tender - or even the factory maintainer - and you will be fine and save $600 or so. My original OEM/factory battery lasted from the time the car was built/sold in 2014 to when I had it replaced in May of 2020 - and it is still fine.

    Cheers :)

It’s right two years old as I type this. For comparison, the original lasted a few plowing’s before giving up the ghost. IIRC, the AG packs nearly three times the punch and is the same size as the battery it replaced.

How long will a Antigravity battery last? I can keep on a tender. Will AG battery last 10years?

I dont understand the love orgy over the AG batteries when the same lithium battery, H6 - 60Ah WITH remote 2nd start feature can be had from Lithiummoto.com
for 20% less ??? and made in USA vs china. Mine works fine. Maybe LM doesnt want to pay the youtubers a bunch of free batteries ...

Same discussion all the time ... "normal oem" vs "AG" ...

Normal for $ 200 and AG for $ 1000 (incl charger) ... so it's not that difficult imo.

Installing both is very simple if you are a DIY guy. Half an hour work .... if you are handy :)

I recently replaced my OEM with Interstate, identical in capacity , CCA, identical in dim, honestly if the Interstate last another five years it's well worth the $300 I paid.

Getting the battery over that alum lip is a pain in the Speciale. Did you remove the whole panel?

I did remove it, there was no good way of getting it out otherwise.

First I’ve ever heard of this. If it’s truly the same as the AG battery then I definitely would have bought it instead

Just went to their website…looks like it was made in 1998 on geocities. There’s also no mention of the battery you’re talking about anywhere?

The AG is great, but you still need to fully charge on occasion, by either a long journey or the tender. I ran mine all summer without any long journeys and never charged, whilst it showed 100% after a journey on the app, the actual capacity had depleted. I left it 4 weeks and it was dead, which I’d never experienced previously (6 weeks before without hitting the restart). I used the fob to bring it back to life but it didn’t have the capacity to start the car. Fully charge cycle on the ctek and now it’s back to full capacity. They are great, but you do need to do some maintenance in terms of charging, the volts shown on the app are not a reflection of the capacity, including the reserve. I got advice from AG on this, before anyone says my battery is faulty, it isn’t.
