Today my 458 italia was broken into in Melbourne while i was watching a movie. The window is smashed, the seat has a small tear (probably from the glass) and my iPhone stolen.

I just can't believe it, i don't think ill be able to park it again without it being in my sight.

Or, leave your iPhone visible (??) in the car.... A friend left his golfbag in his Porsche Carrera. He ran in for less tha 10minutes. The rear window was smashed and the golfbag gone. This happend in the afternoon in one of the more exclusive amd expensive parts of Stockholm... Don't leave valuables visible in the car

Do you have "Find my iPhone" turned on for your phone?

You should be able to track exactly where it is if you do.

Hate to tell you, you weren't targeted because it was a Ferrari; you were targeted because you left a $600 electronic device with high resale value in plain sight in the front of your car while you were in a movie theater for a few hours. You won't make that mistake twice.

    Why?

The psychological effect it has on him makes him feel that way. I can't say I blame him, I likely would feel the same way.

I think the Ferrari was meaningless to the thief - he or she just wanted the phone for drugs - quick sale

You cannot leave ANYTHING of perceived value in sight. I had a bag full of documents on the front seat of my wife's car. I thought about hiding it but I thought it had nothing valuable to me so a thief wouldn't take it.

To a potential thief it could have contained a computer. Both windows smashed . They took everything they could grab.

Hide your things and continue to enjoy your car.

Had my 996TT window smashed about a year ago. Thief had seen a cd case of all things. Didn't know people still assigned value to that kind of thing.

Made off with a collection of mix CDs people had made for me over the years. Worthless to the thief, irreplaceable to me. They were in such a hurry that they missed out on the coin bag in the door. Had about $40 worth of quarters in there...

Lesson learned though, I never leave anything visible in the car. Not even an umbrella.
