It has been announced that the 458 will have a carbon fiber challenge grill option for $7K stating Today moving forward. Does anyone have a picture of it? Thx

sounds like alot for a challenge grill....the back of the 458 is rather square, i dont think it will have the same affect as the 355/360/430

Where did you hear this from? I find it hard to believe based on the fact that the 458 Challenge didn't have a challenge grill like all other challenge cars had.

    7K is a lot. The F430 was about $1500

I heard from a dealer who got it right from Ferrari I am 99% sure it is a done deal. I am looking forward to the pictures. $7K sounds rights based on what Ferrari is charging for all the other carbon fiber. STAY TUNED!!

If it's anything like the picture above it looks like it's just the mesh + the entire back bumper assembly + internals for the mesh, does that sound about right for $7k?

I'm curious as to why they didn't use a challenge grill on the 458 Challenge.

Personally I think the Photoshop pic looks great!

The rear view of the 458 is a little unresolved - and looks better with the black horizontal band across. I suspect is this thread's to be believed - it will be mesh on left and right sides and CF in the middle section which is currently painted.

Carbon will yellow under extreme heat, my guess is the rear air diffuser and not what is shown here. There is a option for the front wings to be carbon.

I think you are probably correct as the exterior carbon options were avaible from June orders.

25k - which is why I still feel the Scud is a steal when you look at all the carbon fiber. The Scud version of a 458 will have to be in the 350 area.

One of my dealer buddies was in Manhattan this past week, when they announced the Challenge Grill. The Photoshop is a bit off. Picture the existing Grill and then extend CF from that grill to a Center spine that is still body color. The Center spine has a bigger radius blending into the bottom bumper and a small radius on top. More of a CF accent piece bolted into the rear bumper with the existing grills still intact. Also no pricing given.

Mmmm... maybe we should leave the styling to Pininfarina...

Not sure that is possible any more. A friend at the factory said that everything is now in-house, Pininfarina is no more.
