458 Challenge race car

Oh Yeah, that video really is a 'siren sweetly singing'. 458C looks incredible.

The ideal place to race it is in Ferrari Challenge. There is no way to run the car with any pro series in 2011, GrandAm, ALMS, World Challenge etc...
But you could run the car on a club level, lots of other places. There are several threads here from the guys at www.ferrariclubracing.com, where they advertise a class just for 458s. 458 class here in '11 would be tiny, but the total turnout should be good, and the venues are nice.

Have you checked on the availability of the R8 GT3? Has it been approved for Grand Am GT?

 

Used to be silver, now white, and with the seat lowered so my head doesn't press against the roll bar! Wonderful being able to fit in the car.

Have you considered the GT instead of the Challenge? That way you can race it in any of the big races........not just a challenge event.....

 

My understanding is that there will be a 458 GT3 but not a 458 GT2. Other's?

As an aside we'll have a 430 GT2 and a ton of spares for sale soon.

 

I've seen the GT2, so I have to suppose that it is a reality....

I have heard nothing but great things about the R8. Friends drove R8's in Asian LeMans and were full of praise. Fast, reliable, comfortable, predictable on the limit. What more can you ask for? It will be a weapon of choice in Asian GT3 I think

The performances of the Kessel Scuderia GT3 and the R8 LMS are quite similar...but in the 2010 Italian GT Championship the winner was the Porsche Gt3R, but driven by the official driver Richard Liez.

 

I think we will be racing these cars at the 24 of Nurburgring.

 

Hope that P4/5 will be faster than other Gt3s. But the Manthey VLN RSR is also faster than a standard Gt3R or a R8 LMS...

We will see GT2 and GT3 version of F458 next year, Michelotto has confirmed that Gt3 is under development and F458 GT2 will be tested in the end of 2010.

Both but 458 GT2 is ready and will be tested soon in Monza.
