wow. Looks like he got a wheel off the road and spun. I can't believe this guy is running around the ring without a nomex suit and hans device.
This is not unusual. I was at the ring last year for an exotic car event, and there were about 30, 911 turbos, GT3, and GT2, F430 Suds, R8s, SLRs, all street cars on slicks, with drivers in jeans going this fast or faster with No cage, in a street car driving at full tilt. I was in proper gear in a race car with a cage with my heart in my throat. The risks taken by people everyday at the track are amazing. Every place you race after this track is child's play.
dropped a wheel and that was that. Lack of safety gear is appalling at the pace that car can run, but I'll confess I ran around in a Clio Cup car without Hans or nomex a couple of years back, but I also left a lot on the table.
You see plenty of people without a helmet on the ring. Some are driving slow, some quite fast. I dont understand it. If you are allowed to wear a helmet and will go fast, wear one.
Majority drive without helmet, equipment. Craziest thing i saw was m3 convt with dad driving mom up front and 2 kids in back in baby seats! Top down and going fast. Its another world there for sure
It is nice that if you want o kill yourself you can still do it. In the USA we don't have such freedom. We should not be complaining about what goes on at the Ring but commend them for doing whatever they want and taking the consequences of their actions. Free will...gotta love it!
Its one thing to spin a car at high speed when you are the driver but that passenger must have soiled his shorts mightily.
Well that may look strange in a way for people not living in Germany. I think it isn't! Travelling at very high speed at the Autobahn istn't something special here in Germany. It sounds silly, but there are some people that get fed up, when someone in front of them doesn't leaf the left lane at 200 km/h for the reason they would like to go faster. Most cars produced and driven in Germany can easily pass 200 km/h or even more - just think about the 2.0 liter Audi A4 or BMW 3series - these cars are limited at 250 km/h. And for sure nobody has any special safety-equipment because he is driving fast at the Autobahn - it's also true, that many parts of the Autobahn are restricted and you are not allowed to drive as fast as you want to drive and there is some traffic espicially around bigger cities.
Did the Exact same thing. Exact. I do think I pulled off a lap around 9 minutes from watching the video. Bridge to Gantry. A Truly amazing place to drive! Germany might be the best place on Earth. Great Coffee, Italian Food, and the Ring. With the Autobahn as the cherry on top, anywhere to anywhere in 45 minutes. sigh........
You also have some of the best roads and drivers. It was so nice to drive around people who weren't texting/talking/eating and god knows what else while driving.
Funny.......I have a few German friends and when I got there and wanted to eat I was told, "Germans eat Italian when we go out". So be it. It was maybe the best pasta carbonara I have ever had.
Indeed. Thank God it all ended good for them but the risks people are taking at the Ring is beyond me.
The type and quality of food in Germany is very much depending on the region. For example in the south of Germany (Bavaria) people eat more solid / substantial things than in northern Germany. In Bavaria people eat a popular snack called Leberkäse often in a bun with mustard - at the Nürburgring you won't find this snack, here you get everywhere Bratwurst (fried sausage) or Currywurst - wich I also like
