I ended up buying a 2012 458. Really nice car and I'm enjoying it quite a bit. A random question for the forum. The drivers mirror shakes a bit more while driving than the passenger side. Also noted the mounting to be a bit out of line. I brought it up with the dealer who said many of their 458s have a misaligned mirror. Does anyone else have an issue like this? What have you done if anything to correct it.

Great comment. Is the mirror misalignment "part of the experience too"?

These cars will have things misaligned here and there, all of it is "normal." The mirror shaking I have also, quite annoying to see, while the cheap beater I have doesn't have this issues at all. Most of us just learn to live with it and enjoy the sound the car makes and the thrill it gives in the experience.

never noticed if mine are misaligned. the longer you drive more of these things the less you pay attention

I have electrically folding mirrors. Doesn't shake.

I don't think it has anything to do with whether you have the folding mirrors or not. My 458 (manual mirrors) had this problem, and now my 488 (electrically folding mirrors) also has this problem.

Although not an elegant solution, I stuffed pieces of foam behind the glass. The result is not 100% effective, but the vibration is reduced a bit. Mine is a 458 without electric folding mirrors.

It has been posted elsewhere here, the only permanent solution is to replace the cage assembly that holds the glass. Unless that cage is broken, I doubt a like kind replacement will eliminate the vibration. I am not inclined to leave it at the dealership for two weeks for an uncertain fix.

My 2018 488 has this issue, it's not terrible and doesn't seem to happen all the time, but it's annoying when it does. Gonna have the dealer look at it when I go by next
