Are there any Getrag or transmission techs here? I’ve been working with a few guys but I’m open for more ideas of what’s going on

You sure it's not hydraulic or mechanical? Not sure about R, but the even gears would all be on the same clutch, right?

Guessing from your post you're more knowledgeable than me, but figured I'd throw it out there.

I’ll send you a PM. P0777 is supposed to be for pressure control solenoid stuck on. As you’re likely aware the clutches control 1-3-5-7 or 2-4-6-R. Sounds like your issue is on the even side. I recently got the gearbox failure light on my Italia and lost 1-3-5-7. Limped home on 2-4-6-R. I was glad to still have reverse. One thing I did not expect is the car would shift into first if I came to a complete stop, but then upon easy/light acceleration, it felt like a 10-year-old stealing the farm tractor. Once it went into second it wasn’t bad and then it simply stayed between 2–4–6 and I was able to cruise home at normal highway speed. Shifts were very slow probably up to two seconds in-between.

I had 9 errors. But now I realize my report doesn’t have the codes.

I tried clearing the codes and 4 of them came back immediately with ignition on engine off.

I disconnected the battery again and left on a three day trip. I’ll see if it wants to behave any differently when I get back and I will put a new battery in it. Also since when I was doing diagnostics, the computer said it was at 12.05 to 12.1 V , this may be indicative of a battery that needs to be replaced which I understand can also cause some funky electrical issues on the 458.

I'm also in your area. Sorry to hear this. If you are really stumped (I don't have a clue myself), try this place in Pewaukee or Personalized Automotive Services in Kenosha. Al at G T is super knowledgeable and honest, and the owner of Personalized Auto in Kenosha was once the lead tech at Lake Forest. Either one of those owners will be able to set you right.

Of course you could take it to Ferrari as well

Here are the error codes on mine.

I noticed the battery only had 12.05-12.1 volts when I had the scanner hooked up so I bought a new battery tonight. Will install soon. Discovered the one in the car is world’s cheapest called “the usable”. With basically every electrical fault at once for the gearbox I hope it’s just mad about the bad battery. Car cranked fine and started fine, even after sitting 1-2 weeks typically with no trickle charger hooked up. But voltage should be 12.5 or higher for a good battery.
