I just saw a 458 in disguise in Modena with the test driver really running the car hard on the highway. We were able to get some photos and a quick video while he was stuck in traffic. Will post soon.

I wonder why it'd be in disguise, the car's pretty much an open book at this point. Not unless a mule for the Scuderia version(?) or some other up and comer. It'd be bit early for working on a Scuderia version I'd think?

Not sure why it was in disguise. He flashed his headlights while in the fast lane in my rental Citroen trying to pass a truck. I saw the LED lights and thought it was a Gallardo at first, then when it passed and I saw the single taillights. I started following it (if it wasnt for traffic, there would be no chance) he slowed down. The exhaust sounds so sweet. While he was in traffic he kept warming up the tires with quick acceleration and braking.

I can't upload the pictures due to my Sony camera cable is back in the states, but will do it soon as I get back.

The low slung roof looks like it could be a spider.

Ferrari CEO Amedeo Felisa confirmed that a Spider version of the coupé 458 Italia would go on sale next year although a higher-powered/lower-weight 'Scuderia' version isn't planned as yet.(this was at his recent visit to Australia courtesy Italiaspeed.com)

Still, no real surprise although they probably don't want any pics of a spider running around if that is what it was.

This is not a regual 458?
    - It seems to have an air intake on the bonnet.
    - the front bumper seems a little different
    - there is an opening in the fron above the bumper
