    Hi everyone!

When slowly moving off in the 1st gear (or reverse) do you get the feeling of clutch being abruptly engaged / dis-engaged? It’s like the 1st gear is either 1 or 0, there is nothing in between. All my other DCT sports cars have a smooth and slow inital movement if you apply absolute minimal amount of throttle.

I find it really hard to park the car in tight spaces, as it’s so abrupt and jumpy. Each time I am parking it in the garage I am close to hitting the wall as I cannot control the initial movement.

I don’t know if my gearbox is malfunctioning or if this is normal? All other gear changes are smooth, if the car is not driven hard.

That doesn't sound right. The 458's double clutch has a very smooth take-up on light throttle - at least as smooth as the Porsche PDK. It's almost torque converter smooth. I'd take it back to the dealer.

This needs to be evaluated and corrected by your dealer's service department. My 458 has very smooth transition upon initiating movement in first gear.
