The tailor made demo cars are always overdone to show how many things you can do if you want to. Then, if the owner has no taste and orders something overdone, it´s not their problem. In this case, it was also a PR stunt to bring attention to the 458 GT2 win at Spa and sell more of those.

Anyway, like it or not, stripes and stickers are what the customer is asking for. The first time Ferrari offered this kind of things, for the 360 Challenge Stradale, they thought that the stripes were an option very few people were going to order and then you see what happened. Just for the record, I don´t like any kind stripes in a road car.

Is this how they want to showcase Taylor Made? With a cheap looking stripe that looks it will peel off after a wash (i know it wont..)? Do it right, do it on a mid engined 488 like the Pioneer 488 made for Pozzi for the Tour Auto.

This car was made some time ago, when they were launching the California T. It's a sensible move to bring some awareness to the new model. Also, creating some association between a racing car and a model that it's considered a "chick car" by some customers is a good idea.

The marketing guys really know what they're doing. It's just that we, the "purists", know a lot more than the average customer and can see the cheat.

    P.S: I hadn't seen the "Pioneer" 488. Cool!
