The only thing wrong with a kitten is---------------they turn into CATS.

Never been a cat guy--------you know they carry the aids virus and probably the asian bird flu--------:)

At least a dog will listen to ya. :)

This discussion is turning into a zoo! Certainly all Ferraris with HELE system will not even save one tree as their total annual fuel consumption will be less than the one of a N.Y.C. bus and a HELE system does not even fit to a car like a Ferrari, imagine red traffic light and silence....... - BUT it is a statement by Ferrari and I believe a pretty important one.

We all have to think about our energy resources and the start is in our brains.
If Ferrari can do others should do and if you would pay 8 USD per gallon after 50% of income taxes (as we pay in Europe) you may also start changing your behaviors and turn into a supporter. The st***d shields (o.k., I love them too) cost nearly the same as the HELE system. What you get is permanent fan control, a better fuel pump, a new electronic air-conditioning compressor and a switchable start-stop system - that is not bad.

I've just found out that, because of homologation reasons, the HELE system cannot be ordered with the 4-point harnasses. No idea why exactly, but I've had to make a choice and so I will not be saving any baby kittens but my car will have the seat belts as I think they are essential to the look I wanted for the car. The fact that Holland will now be flooded because of global warming is a price I am willing to pay. :)

If you look at it, then a 458 with race belts is 18.000 euro more expensive in Holland than the same car with normal belts and HELE.... Bizarre.

Uhm, sort of drifting OT, but anyway...

Constructing a motor that needs less fuel is a good thing.
Inventing add-ons driving down consumption is a good thing.
Saving oil IN GENERAL is a good thing.
Saving the WORLD is an even BETTER thing.

But some ivory-tower-based, activist-brainwashed, stuffed-by-lobbyists bureaucrat pushing ME into having a bad conscience by telling ME that I'm responsible for our atmosphere when doing a mere max of 10,000 km/yr in a beautiful sportscar is NOT a good thing.

Price of petrol here is high, no doubt (1l super fuel @ EUR 1.70).

The reason for that ? Exactly the same as above:
Additional taxes, regulations and laws every year.

All just to feed existing (and ever-growing) armadas of fat-*ssed bureaucrats offering NO return to the people paying for their 'services'.

To ME that's NOT green thinking, but green fascism.

Therefore I did (and WOULD) not order the HELE.

Now blame me for the disasters of the world (no worry, wife does it all the time...).

    Cheers,
    Ulli

HELE is only one of the many absurdities surrounding the global warming scam. CO2 emissions from a few thousand Ferraris will make no difference in any metric whatsoever. In fact all the emissions of all the cars will make not a whit of difference in the climate. It is becoming more and more clear that the science is saying that the earth's climate is insensitive to CO2. But it still is an opportunity to tax and give preferences to companies that pay to play.
