    Hello to the group,

My 2015 458 with 10k miles recently developed a pesky random squeak on the right side of the car interior. It was finally solved, whilst it was in for its annual service a couple of days ago.

It turned out to be the passenger side seat back rubbing against the seat bottom (where the two touch) when the car hit a bump in the road *just* right. I could tell that it was coming from the inside of the car, but I could not find the exact location whilst driving it by myself.

The dealer was able to isolate the squeak by taking a couple of test drives, with and without a passenger. The solution was to treat the seat with a leather conditioner. I thought I would post this as another possible think to check if you are having a squeak from the right side of the interior.

Obviously, if you’ve got a rattle this will not help, but some members have mentioned squeaks and this is a possible cause/solution. It worked for me! When I picked it up yesterday, I made an awesome 215 mile drive with no squeaks, zip, nada! Before the fix, I could not go two miles without hearing that pesky squeak... Cheers!

It may be a long shot for some of our FChatters, but this problem was solved for me with a wee bit of Lexol leather conditioner. All I know is that bloody squeak was ruining my enjoyment of the 458’s epic engine “music.” It was like fingernails on a chalkboard... Ugh...

I took another trip and no squeaks, zero! AlI I heard was the deep, soul enriching sounds of that awesome V8 running up and down through the gears. Pure Ferrari V8 bliss! Words cannot begin to describe my love of the 458!

Thirty-two years of driving S-Class Benzes were rendered irrelevant in a nano-second. The only thing better for me than my 458, is two of them... When we get our vacation home on Maui, I will get another 458... What’s better than blasting up to the summit of Mt. Haleakala in a 458? Heaven on earth!!!

    Cheers!

Remember the 458 is a N/A and as you climb the air gets thinner and the Hp starts going down.

Thanks for your comments. Whilst the engine music/power of the NA 458’s engine may be muted in the higher reaches on the way to the summit, I will still be driving a 458 to one of the most beautiful places on the planet. Win, win, win...

Mt. Haleakala is about 10,200 feet in height. When you get to the top, you are usually looking down at the top of the clouds. It’s a surreal place to be, especially at sunrise or sunset.

We’ve been to Maui ten times and we always drive up to the summit. The view looking down into the crater is nothing short of “other worldly.” The mineral eruptions on some of the cones are visually stunning.

We have a signed first edition Giclee by a local Maui artist of the crater floor of Haleakala above our master bed. I never get tired of seeing it!

    Cheers!
