So this was a friend filming you?

In the last video I noticed the driver's side window in the 458 was rolled down and the passenger was holding a video camera with two hands filming your car - not what usually happens when being competitive at 190+mph.

Unfortunately when a car is tuned, all bets are off. Especially when It's a Turbo. Nice 458 though :)

Does the porsche weigh that much less than the 458 that it walks away from it with less hp? Interesting vids. Wonder what the final drive ratio is for the two.

Methinks gearing has a bit to do with it as well.

It may be 550 in RWHP, which is pretty easy to do with a turbo tune. Otherwise I don't see how's he'd know that's it's 550hp to the crank. If he Dyno'd the car, most dyno's only give a somewhat accurate read for RWHP.

    Just a thought.

    I had F430 Giallo Modena!!!

I like Ferrari and 458 Italia is a great evolution compared with the F430!!!

458 Italia is great show car!!!

but Turbo PDK ecu tuned has a big TORQUE 82kgmf and 458 has only 54kgmf of Torque, for "side by side" TORQUE IS MORE IMPORTANT of hps belive me!!!

    see this other video!!!

may be i return to Ferrari in "458 Scuderia" version!!!

The 458 is not as fast as number of cars, including the Nissan GTR, McLaren MP4-12C, Corvette ZR1, Porslche Turbo, and many others. I do understand this is the FERRARI THREAD, so we all "worship" (what other word works?) the miracle workers lodged in Maranmello (Mercca). I have to laugh when reading some posts, analogous to scanning the Catholic Church, Islamic Mosque , or Jewish Temple Thread, where one "witnesses" (again apologies) something akin to "my" GOD is really special. Ignore the facts, just keep the "faith" (once again I fall victim). Best

So a modified 997 turbo is faster than a stock 458 on a straight line? The videos are ok, but as a previous poster already pointed out, all bets are off when a you have a modified car up against a stock one.. especially when the performance difference between these two awesome cars isn't much to begin with.

Yep, zero interest. Stock for stock, maybe, but then there is a debate about reaction times, driver skill/commitment etc. It's a yawn.

Stock Turbo S is probably also faster, however throw some turbos on the 458, and pit turbo vs turbo and I think you'll find the 458 will destroy the porsche.

There are very few naturally aspirated engine cars out there that are faster than the 458. LP700 may be the only one.

    A pointless exercise.
How about drag racing that Porsche against my secretary's son's Dodge Neon?
    It's also modified (10.4s 1/4 mile)......

+1 there is always someone faster, but I'd rather pull up in a 458 any day of the week.

I traded in my 2010 pdk tt with Italia couple weeks ago. No doubt tt was a very fast car. From a dig, tt really makes you nauseated. However, i have no regrets with the trade as my 458 is more fun to drive.

This is totally pointless. Why would you want to compare a tuned car to a bone stock car? Perhaps Motortrend, Topgear, EVO, and the countless of motoring journalist out there should start comparing how much faster a tune 800hp Mitsubishi is faster then the latest Murchielago Aventador or Ferrari FXX on a straight line?

On a personal note, I have a highly tuned 1200hp crank R35 GTR in my stable. It does flat 9's day in and out and I could even daily drive it. But I still wouldn't put it on par with a bone stock 458. I could have but i wouldn't.

    Someone is insecure?

To all of you saying this is pointless or that he is insecure, please point out where the OP said his car trashed the 458? He only said that for drag racing, torque is better which is mostly true.

I only see someone posting videos of 2 fine cars having some (illegal) fun in Brasil...you guys need to relax.

The attached thread will demonstrate my point to a tee. Contrary to all the hype, a stock 458 is faster than a stock Turbo 2. Once cars are modded, all bets are off. My M3 will out run my 430. Why, its modded to the hilt. So what?

Love all of these cars, especially the 911 Turbo 2. The simple point I was trying to make is in the attached thread and video.

We get a little defensive around here on occasion.

As far as speed, Porsche quotes 0-60 in 3.1 sec for the Turbo S PDK, so bone stock it probably is the (slightly) faster car.

In the real world, it's probably so close it's irrelevant.

I own both Turbo S and 458 and there's nothing in it (going by seat of the pants). The Porsche hooks up better from launch but the 458 feels like it has more top end. On the street, things get very busy very quickly if you keep your boot into either car for more than a few seconds.
