if you search this board for drag race 458 cobra you'll find tommygold, played with various settings to lower his quarter miles times. Lots of good info. (you might follow the links to the cobra forum too)

It's in the manual...Is that the best you can do?
    Do you own a 458?
I know it's in the manual...I was asking for real world experience.
Some one who can tell me the real way to do it.
    That what I would like.

    Thanks.

How often can you use the LC in the 458? When the 430 was released Ferrari stated that the LC could be used as often as you liked with little wear to the clutch, yet the owners in the 355/430 section now know differently. Is the Double Clutch gearbox capable of as-many-as-you-want LC starts?

"To get a real answer: request help, don't demand it".

I ask a question and this is your responce. Either you have too much time on your hands
or just plain rude. There must be something in your life to do other than to make inane comments. All I wanted was an opinion ( which I did get) and you chime in with such a stupid responce. No wonder serious people get tired of this nonsense.
If you have nothing smart to say it's best to be quiet. I need to get back to taking care of patients rather than deal with this nonsense.

Ouch, not lots of help here! I'm told there is no limit on its use in the California that I own. I have heard about needing the CST off as well but the manual for the California does not say that. And as I remember I don't think it made any difference. So, Sport or CST off, A/C off just to save wasted power, Auto turned off (Manual mode), mash Launch, mash throttle to floor, wait a few seconds, foot off the brake. Again, that is the California, assuming that since the tranny is similar that the software might be too.

Todd, I don't know how often you visit these types of forums but it's more of a community where people try to help one another and enjoy the "company" of other like minded car people than a place where one demands answers like we are the service dept of your dealership.

Your original post was slightly "off" which is why I chose not to reply. Then your angry responses thereafter remind me of many Dr's I know and their ridiculous G-d complexes.

Was it soooo important to tell everyone you are a Dr? Does that make you special? Who cares? I don't.

Maybe your intentions were totally different but it certainly came across lousy to me.

I hope you enjoy the car...it's great.

There's only one way to use it, and it has been stated in this thread twice.

The best way you ask? Don't use it, needless wear and tear.

Sorry guys it took so long to respond but I just finished my last case a few minutes ago.
I did not realize that post count equals credibility on this forum. If you'll notice I have probably been a member for longer than most of the folks attacking me...In fact it's like a heard mentality to go after someone who is regarded ( incorredtly) as rude. I am willing to bet that most fo the people going after me don't even own a ferrrari much less have the ability to afford one. However, maybe I'll just quit my day job saving lives and increase my post count and then, maybe I'll be more like you.

Other than a few guys who chose to respond politely and intelligently the rest have all been on attack mode...If this is how you run a forum than I feel sorry for all the
wannabes giving advice on something with so little knowledge of the subject or even real-life experience.

By the way I am an IR Radiologist and most of my work is done in the angio suite, not at the bedside...and I don't have a god complex which is a ridiculous sterotype.

Many of you seem to derive great entertainment by attacking and disparaging a member who does not fit into your mold. And yet all you do is spend time on this forum attacking folks while I work extremely hard and own cars and jets and have wealth well beyond most, (but not all) that you could ever even dream of.

Let me give you some advice...stop wasting your time on such nonsense displayed on this thread and do somthing productive with your lives and help someone and yourselves and you will find much more enjoyment and satisfaction in life ( and maybe even be able to afford a Ferrari)

Just some food for thought...and thank you for the guys that gave real advice. It was very helpful.

    Dr Spencer

I think some members may have just mistakenly taken your intention in a wrong way. I can see why. When i read your post, I too thought maybe it read almost as if you are demanding someone for an answer. I just acquired my 458 3 months ago, and i've inquired countless newbie questions on this forum and I must say they were always helpful and i've learned a lot from this forum.

Wow, I don't think I've ever read a more pompous post on any thread on any forum. We no longer need to wonder why you can't figure out why people are giving you a hard time. Here's a hint: It's got nothing to do with your post count.

No more needs to be said
Spend less time on line and more time earning a living to buy a ferrari or an aventador, which I now you lust for. Pompous, no. Realistic, yes. As I said there is too much heard mentality here and way too much enjoyment in attacking others who are more successful.

Everyone try to tone it down and you will find it's more enjoyable to have an intelligent
conversation that's productive and informative rather than the trash that's been said so far by so many to such a simple request. It's no wonder serious people rarely use these types of forums when this kind of behavior is substituted for so called advice and information.

I don't understand why you derive such pleasure in criticizing and attacking people.
It can only be resentment towards those that have and those that don't. If I were to guess I would suggest many on this site, but not all, are redistributionists which is probably the source of thier envy.

Again, advice: Spend less time on line playing someone else and get a job.
It's alot more fun to own and drive Ferrari than only to talk and lust for it and all the other fun things in life.

Excellent! As if the hole wasn't deep enough already. So sorry to spoil your day and all that chest puffing but it's an F430. I just don't feel the need to tell everyone like you do. Top stuff, keep digging.
