I am thinking of placing an order on a yellow/black 458. They tell me it is @ MSRP. Is that what you all have received for your orders? It appears that the cars for sale out there are going for above their MSRP. I was going to get a 2008 F430 6 speed but the 7 yr service and 3 yr warranty are looking like a better option. Please comment.

Used cars are higher because the wait is long. Some don't want to wait. All new cars are going for MSRP. Did they say how long to get it?

    Good luck with the purchase!

Maybe late 2012 but definitely before summer of 2013.

That's why people pay on average a 20 grand fee above new MSRP for a used one. A lot of people just don't want to wait and an 8% upcharge is worth to them the year or more without the car.

Things work like this at our local dealer:

You put $25K down, they give you an estimated delivery date and you're queued up in line with everyone else. If someone cancels their order while you're waiting for your car, you move up. If the car is delivered to the dealer and the person does not take delivery of the car, those in line are given an opportunity to purchase the car. After they go through those that have queued up without someone buying the car, anyone can buy the car.

There were several cars that were delivered to the dealer without the customer taking delivery of the car. They all get scooped up within a month or less, no matter how they are spec'd.
