Here is the door covering showing the alcantara centre section which flows around the rear wall of the car separating the leather. It's a nice effect and presumably is the standard finish as it was on all of the display cars. Not a great pic I'm afraid as someone bumped into me as I took it then a crowd gathered so I didn't get a chance for a second shot.

Really digging this car. Haven't been this excited about a Ferrari design since the 355.

Thank you isuk and all the others who've taken the trouble to post for the rest of us who couldn't be there. This is the next best thing!

By the way, did they shed any light on the purpose of the third tail pipe?

no 'official' confirmation yet, but from the old crash test car pics, it appears to be used during low revs, when the valves to the main mufflers are closed...

Not the greatest colour nor the greatest angle, however I find the ride height the biggest issue. The first official pictures showed an extremely lowered car, now it is sad to find that the production version will lack the stance of that first images with a much higher suspension setting.

i agree on the ride height. historically the launch pics have always shown an aggressive stance. then the actual model seems to have large wheel gaps and an under-tired look.

Before anyone gets too excited bear in mind that these cars are simply base models. Until the line evolves and you get the CS/Scud variant of this car, it's just another ho-hum exotic.
Nice enough, but very basic in Ferrari terms.

I haven't been excited by anything I've seen so far, but I have faith that the product planners are well on the way to delivering an evolved, real sports car based on this new platform. It may take a few years.......

The deeper red for the 458 is spectacular. Nice crisp pictures, thank you! Looking forward to more...

I'm still very undecided on the looks of the car.

I'll have to wait and see one in person.

Beautiful car - Thanks to everyone for supplying pictures / who needs a retirement fund when there are Ferrari's like this! First one that hits the secondary market is going to have a scag for a sister.

So Alex would you prefer to drive a CS/Scud over the 458?
