It was a great day so I took the car for a drive. It has been asleep for almost 3 months and felt so good to get back behind the wheel. I stopped by the dealer and was surprised to find out that I have the most miles of all 458's they have sold. I got the car in April 2011 and have 4500 miles. The funny thing is that I feel like I haven't driven it at all! Why do so many people not drive these cars?

On a different note, I noticed when shifting into 2nd gear the car "bounces" at times. Also, when redlining the car a kind of 'Turbo Whoosh " is heard between gear shifts.

    Has anybody experienced these?

My 458 has 6300 miles and no bounce yet. The car so far has been perfect.

You might want to check your tires. That bouncing may be from the wheels trying to put the rubber down.

    Just a guess.

    Mine has been perfect.

I have to give you an ata-boy for red lining the 458 :) A Ferrari owner that drives it like it should be driven.

The Bounce and Whoosh help needs to come from another 458 owner that drives like you, to hear and feel that DCT working at those extremes.
