In the new off. Ferrari Magazine issue 6 0-100 < 3.4 0-200 < 10,4 ( Thats amazing) 100-0 < 32,5 Fiorano Lap 1,25 (same like the sucderia)
You received an early 16M. Will you have a early 458 in red also to go with that other Ferrari? Do you think 'racing livery' stripes suit the 458? CH
Its important to know what shoes the car had on when testing. If they could swap it to Pzero Corsa tires it could even be faster.
First question no, I am on the Top list for the scuderia successor, I always passed the standard V8 (to much cars built, and to much compromise for a sportcar, IMO) but I have no official information that ferrari will launch a scuderia successor in 2012/13 but.... what i heard is that the 458 has delay because of electronic issues, first shipments in march 2010 and the 599 GTO or so has very good chance to launch in late 2010 racing livery stripes, I would say yes because in 2 years to much normal 458 on the planet and i personaly like it on my 16 M importent that you let ferrari do this also when its more expensive but its original ( and 10 K plus is no real matter for a good looking different 458.)
Thanks for the information. The problem with electronic issues on the 458 has not been mentioned until now. Perhaps that is why Ferrari has not allowed any of the journalists to drive the 458 yet. The factory racing livery does seem to make the appearance of the car more unique. Some photoshop pictures have illustrated how a 458 would look with a stripe package. The early plain 458 version looks naked now without the stripes. CH At least you have one built in advantage. Whenever you receive your new Ferrari again it will be prior to the car's appearance in the North American market!

Pirelli was not one of the "key" partners in the development of the 458, so tires on this iteration will be limited to Michelin and Bridgestone. Surprising that Pirelli was left out of the mix, or opted out of the mix. The "big" sign at Frankfurt list all the strategic suppliers.... and Pirelli was conspicuously absent.
Besides the lap time around Fiorano, how do the above performance numbers compare to the Scuderia's times?
Also noticed that Pirelli has nothing to do with the 458 which is very strange given the long association Ferrari has had with Pirelli. I remember when te 430 came out many people thought the car didnt perform too well on track with the Bridgestones.
Though at the Maranello presentation only Michelin and Bridgestone were explicitly mentioned as suppliers, you will get Pirelli and Goodyear tyres for the 458 Italia as well.
