It appears from the pictures posted online https://carsfromwest.com/en/auction/lot/34023365 this 458 Speciale was severely damaged resulting as a salvaged vehicle. Buying any salvage car, the buyer assumes all risk. It's not the responsibility of Copart to "show you the real damage". Copart is in the industry of buying in bulk from insurance companies and liquidating damaged cars. Copart does a good job and provides a valued service in the auto salvage industry. So, if this project car is up your alley, I wish you all the best. Keep in mind that even if this car is beautifully restored, it will always have salvage title which will affect resale. So, it's up to the buyer to research any car purchase let alone a salvaged vehicle - caveat emptor "buyer be ware". So, it comes down to basic features like - does the engine run? If it matters, I like the exterior color and interior ;)

U can always get a normal salvage 458 and put the parts on that car.

I've seen cars listed as having "no chassis damage", yet I absolutely knew differently. Caveat Emptor indeed.

Like Yellow Murci said very well, if you are serious about purchasing it, I would hire a local inspector to have it inspected.

Based on what I can see on the pictures, the gearbox also seems to have taken a hit, and in all fairness, you look at about $90k in parts (roughly) + labor.

If you have a good repair shop, you can have it back to original. You will not if you "cut corners".

If you look at the value of a non-salvage one, this one would lose about 20% of its value once fixed. Being a 2015, if you also take in consideration the repairs + the parts, I would say this car will go on the auction block for about $160k to 170k.

I wouldn't buy a car that badly damaged, nevermind a Ferrari. The loss in value and the cost to bring it back to perfect would not be worth it.

Interesting to see that both shields from the front fenders have been removed. So what else has been taken from the car? If someone can grab those, is everything else that's not bolted in been taken too? Every item adds up quickly. People that buy these cars must be brave.
