I wasn't super keen on the look of the Speciale when I saw the first pics (or crappy renders in the Ferrari tradition actually), but now I much prefer it to the Italia which now looks a little soft and tame. The different stripes (and the no stripe) give plenty of scope for a wide range of customization and expression. This thread is going to get better and better.

    Agree Mark,

I had the chance over the weekend to look at it from different angles, listen to it in full flight down the main straight at Eastern Creek and you're spot on, the Italia does look slightly soft next to it. Speciale is very aggressive and sits lower. The safety car driver mentioned it's loud inside even with the helmut on, grip levels off the scale.

Great car.. I enjoyed a close look at Eastern Creek too.

Bit of a challenge finding place for a front plate though with active aero inlet that would be blocked, or at least hampered, in the one obvious place.

I do like these harder edge versions though, 430 Scuderia etc..

Alex, I think a smaller magnetic number plate will need to be positioned on the front bumper.

Will be a pre-deilvery nightmare for dealers. Notice the Ferrari badge for the first time is on the bumper not the hood.

All the pics I've seen seem to mount it on the bumper. It actually looks easier than the Italia to me. Magnetic - how does that work? I expect to use double sided tape. Active aero seems OK - or am I missing something? It's just the little flaps, right?

In comparison with 430 Scuderia and 16M, the exposed carbon fiber side skirts looks great in Speciale!

    :)

I agree. They both look amazing! I think the lines of the Speciale are particularly in sync with the CF side panels making the side profile appear sleek.

Well i agree with you but maybe in Speciale in comparison with the bi-colour roof configuration fits better.

But both of the cars are great!

The problem with the full carbon sills on the 458 is that it is straight lines on a curvy car, on the 16M, the curvy protruding air intakes at least off set this somewhat

Plus having the additional air intake at the end give the carbon skirt a sense of purpose

I think the side carbon spoils the side profile if the car, giving it a chunky look.

    Agreed!

I do however like them on the Scud/430 as well, but think they flow MUCH better on the 458.
