Yes. I wasn't sure how they would look, but after seeing them like the uniqueness.

Floor mats are the carbon ones from Exoticare. They are from my Italia, so the fit is a little off. I'm waiting for a new set from them.

I've been enjoying all the great photos of the diversity of custom selected 458s. Awesomely cool that Ferrari allows us such individualized choice to build our dream car, take style risks, and express ourselves in our own unique ways! And I look forward to someday moving to a 458 or whatever follows.

My own 430 is very traditional, ie rosso corsa with all leather cuoio interior. What can I say - I felt like my first Ferrari just had to be that way. Although these many great combinations have caused me some thought . . .

That being said, I can't resist a few potentially controversial comments:
    (1) The 458 and 458 Speciale exterior is already a "busy" design. It already has many cutouts, vents, extra angles, different colored inset items, etc. Given that fact, I think some of these designs get too busy, with too many colors and too much distraction from an otherwise beautiful design. Simple, clean, beautiful, elegant, brilliant design, is usually best. I think consideration of this during customization is greatly beneficial. Please consider this! Your Ferrari may eventually be my next Ferrari. :)

    (2) The stripe is a bad idea. See point (1) above for the reason. The hood is already busy, marginally too busy, with all the vents, long light cutouts, etc. Adding stripes, especially the wider ones with multiple colors, and the ones that cross the vents becoming a multi-part broken stripe, is not good from a design perspective. The cars with no stripe, of pretty much any color, are much more beautiful.

    (3) Alcantara is trendy blasphemy in a fine automobile! Here is the definition from wiki:
"Alcantara is a tradename given to a composite material used to cover surfaces and forms in a variety of applications. It can be described as an artificial substitute for suede leather. The material was developed in the early 1970s by Miyoshi Okamoto, a scientist working for the Japanese chemical company Toray Industries, and was based on the same technology of their other product Ultrasuede, produced around the same time.
Alcantara is composed of about 68% polyester and 32% polyurethane giving increased durability and stain resistance. The appearance and tactile feel of the material is similar to that of suede, and it may be incorrectly identified as such."

Would anyone tolerate this material on a nice piece of furniture? Your family room couch? Favorite chair?

Its seriously disturbing that people are choosing to cover the inside of a Ferrari with a 1970s polyester suede leather imitation! Maybe even paying extra for it? Why not install 70's orange shag carpet rugs and vinyl pleather seating as well.

I will be in my grave before I have any alcantara trim in my car, so it makes me sad that I'll struggle to find my next Ferrari with a proper, beautiful, hand made, all-leather interior such as found in my 430.

But really - I do love browsing all the photos and seeing what everyone has selected! I'm enthusiastically positive that we are given the choice and that people are willing to take a big chance to order something very unique. Just hoping to see more cars configured such that I'd like to buy them in a few years. :)

    -Dan

Someday there will be a hearing in the Hague to address the plastic wrapping of Ferrari's. Clearly a crime against humanity. The perpetrators must be brought to justice.

Not crazy about alcantera either. Its the main reason I bought a scud with full leather.

    LOL Dan,

Your posts made me smile. Ii seems that I'm guilty of a few transgressions.

    1. Have a stripe on my Speciale and wouldn't consider buying one without it.
    2. Have CF rocker panel and fins as IMHO it breaks up the side of the car making it more streamlined
    3. Will clear bra the car. I drive my Fcars with the FCA guys and had almost 9,300 miles on my 12 coupe when I traded it in...lots of stones hit the windshield, front and side of the car that would have significantly peppered the paint.
I do agree about alcantara and have leather interior on the S.

All I can say is diversity is what makes the world go round. :)

Yep, diversity is great! I love that we are all given the opportunity to be ourselves and reflect who we are in our cars.

So to those of you who choose to reflect who you are by covering the inside of your $400K custom Ferrari with 1970s plastic imitation suede . . . huh???

But I'm unreasonable in this area as I only allow wood, stone, and the occasional porcelain tile flooring and countertops in my homes. I have minor fits over carpet and vinyl flooring as well. Modern synthetic surfaces are practical, efficient, and robust. The chemical outgassing usually decreases after a few months or years. And they look almost like the real materials they attempt to imitate. If I were on a very tight budget I might entertain using one of these synthetic materials somewhere in my house or car . . . as a last resort.

p.s. - If I cause one person to think twice, resulting in one beautiful new Ferrari entering the world with a natural leather interior instead of alcantara, then I will be very happy!

I agree! alcantara bends and reflects light in so many different directions. I do not dislike it, but I do prefer leather much more.

Alcantara has many advantages. It is lighter than leather and most importantly, it is much grippier. Perfect then for the racing seats and the steering wheel.

Skip dessert and wear alcantara pants. Problem solved, and then your Ferrari can be leather instead of plastic trimmed. :)

lol good one! Or if you have leather in your car, wear all leather clothing to gain super sticky friction on corners!

Has anyone had any issues with their Speciale on speed bumps or garage entrances hitting? I am contemplating ordering the lifting option, but have been told most people rarely use it and the speciale really doesn't need it.

Also do you guys think its worth it for the carbon rear diffuser or is it barely noticeable compared to other carbon options. Thanks for the input.

I ordered both and would pass on both if i had to order again.

Lifter has rarely been used and rear diffuser not very noticeable on a darker car.

Do you plan to lower your car? If you think you might in the future, then the lifter option will become very useful. CF is just a preference.
