Thanks for the options and pricing list. I can't believe some of the options they are charging for that were standard on the Scuderia. Ferrari is really starting to rake people over the coals with this stuff.
lol @ cruise control... if anyone drives while maintaing the same pressure on the gas pedal for extended periods of time in a mid-engine 600+hp racecar they are doing it stupidly wrong. Enjoy life a little for pete's sake...
Silver plate that they will engrave with your name or whatever you want. Here is the 575M version. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Does anybody want this option on a ferrari? Thank god it's an option. I'm surprised that the US government isn't forcing this on every new car...yet.
I'd want it standard actually. There is no downside to it IMO. Same with cruise control. I use cruise control all the time on road trips or longer drives. These are just normal cars at the end of the day. I use an exotic no different than I use a Honda for the most part.
Perhaps, but we're talking about a road car, not a race car. Poser bull****. Just my two cents. Speciales will see more time sitting at red lights and gas stations than they will on a race track. Even the highest performance cars nowadays have E-mode. I'd use that all the time and I'm sure many P1 and 918 owners will. I'm not sure what the LF e-mode is though. Different strokes for different folks. Personally I want my cars to have the highest performance and all the amenities for how much I'm paying, especially if the features are just software.
The amenities you speak of are fine in a family car...but it's just not in the spirit of a Speciale IMHO.
I think the spirit of such a car gets more and more blurry as time goes on due to technology just getting better and better. You can only leave stuff out for so long for the sake of purity before you're just considered outdated and people criticize you for it. Imagine if the Speciale didn't have ABS or TC/ESP just because race cars don't. That might actually be a law though that they have that stuff -- don't know as I don't keep pay attention to safety regulation. I sure as hell want that stuff though, because god knows it's been active before and saved my ass. Start/stop is on the Aventador now and can just be turned off by selected Corsa mode I'm pretty sure. No reason the Speciale couldn't be the same.
I see your point. Especially on the safety items. But remember the underlying theme of the Speciale is to be intentionally more raw and purposeful...and exciting. Keep the driving/safety aids, but lose the cup holders, power windows, audio systems, glove compartments, etc.
Agree with everything except may be keeping the power windows (at least I don't think this would increase the weight by that much)
i always got a kick out of the Enzo having manually operated windows. LOL. i wonder if the La Ferrari has power windows? as far as weight goes, the most effective thing i personally could do would be to lose about 40 pounds!!! crap.
