I am looking at a 2015 Speciale with no stripes. The color is Aluminum Apaco which is a mat finish and Ferrari will not put stripes on a mat finish I have been told by the dealer. No stripes does that mean bad resale and does the mat finish hurt it? Need your help so I don't get the wrong car! Thank you

Why would the dealer put stripes on the car ? Go to an independent shop that does clear bra and paint protection and have them put decals / stickers on if that's what you really want to do.

I think everyone will have their own opinion about mat finish and stripes. For me, i like shinny Ferraris with stripes. That said, if you are planning on keeping the Speciale for a long time then you should look for one that YOU like and don't worry so much about what others like.

Some say the cars with no stripe are worth less but it is an expensive option so maybe understandable. Key is do you like the car? I almost bought a red speciale without the stripe since I did not like the red with blue and white stripe combination. The strip on the one I ended up buying makes the car.
If you like it that is all that matters.

The matte finish is sort of cool - but mainly on someone else's car :) For me, personally, I like my cars to shine when in the sun.

For a while, I was entertaining the idea of ordering a semi-matte finish black 430 Scuderia, but that was way back when. These days, wrapping your car with a matte finish does seem very popular among the 25 y/o street rodder crowd, however - so maybe you are onto something :)

No right or wrong answer, just personal preference. I prefer my special V8's with a stripe and others may not...we are blessed that we can enjoy these cars with or without a stripe.

My sense is that for the Speciale's (and also the Scuderia's) there are more striped cars than not, but less striped Challenge Stradale's.

Back in 2003 the dealers were begging their customers NOT to order stripes on Stradales. They said that nobody liked the stripe, and it would be difficult to sell Stradales with stripes down the road :) Boy were they wrong. LOL.

speciale looks fabulous imho w/o stripes, there's already plenty of everything else going on the car.

The simpler, less fussy forms and lines of a CS/Scud makes for a nice, clean canvas for some livery.

100% no stripes for me on any Ferrari esp. 458 speciale when there is so much going on already as stated above.

I think the stripes match the personality of the car...

Agreed... Have a buddy who owns a stripeless Speciale and at our car meets/shows many people mistake the car for a 458 Italia. The stripes add a more race inspired "look" in my opinion.

I had a 458 Speciale in Grigio Opaco (matte silver). I chose not to put a stripe on mine. The matte finish alone was dramatic enough :)

Depends...as so many others have said. Just do what you want.

I hate stripes on Stradales but love them on Speciales

If you like to name your cars and buy a stripe-less Speciale, you could call it 'Shorn'...;)

Have a Speciale WITH stripe. Looking at maybe adding a Scud. I wont even consider a car w/o a stripe (and stripe MUST BE ex Factory). IF (and I say IF) these things become collectable in 20 years a time a stripe will be a big deal.

If you don't car about 20 years - do what you are happy with

    + 1

A relatively small percentage of Stradales were ordered with the factory stripe. But so many people liked the stripe that they added it afterwards with a graphic applied over the paint. It looks good, but it's not the same as having a factory stripe. The first thing I do when I see a Stradale with a stripe is touch it to see if it's a graphic add-on :)

The "late" stripe can be over painted with clear paint Rick, you won't see the difference then imo :)
