I'm thinking of getting a capristo glass engine lid for my 458 spider.

Anyone had one of the above? Any issues / problems that I should be aware of?

Would it knock resale value? I'll keep the original lid of course...

They are made really well and mine has held up after 10 ish years. I posted some pics of it the other day in the 458 photos thread. The rubber has gone a little grey / hard like all window seals do eventually but not to the point it's very noticeable or that I wanted to replace it.

Not sure about resale in UK. Here in Aus it does not really add any value to the car. So it could make sense to sell the car in stock config and sell the part second hand.

okay, thanks for the feedback - I was going to keep the original lid for resale.
I've had a look at the pictures, and it does look good - I see you had it painted on top, but left it gloss carbon underneath - any issues with the colour match? It seems yours is rosso corsa?

Would be wonderful if you could upload some other images from other angles.

One final question, would you recommend it? Or does the appeal wear off after time?

Thanks for taking the time to reply, it's greatly appreciated.

Yes Rosso Corsa, and a good paint shop can easily take of it. If you don't know one, ask a local Ferrari dealer.

I can recommend the build quality so it's just a matter of personal preference.

WOW - looks mega, and great colour match!
Is the carbon airbox the official ferrari one?

Great quality. We did have some issues with the paint being difficult as the solvent in the carbon caused the paint to fisheye on multiple units,. Paint shop just ahd to sand and paint 2-3 times to rectify the issue. Not uncommon with carbon. Every customer love them.
