Otis I think it looks great. Please post some more pics from further away showing more of the roof please. Part looks to be of amazing quality which is of no surprise being Cap made it.
Otis Thanks for new pics. Looks perfect. Love the finish on the wheels. Matches the headlights and roof so well. Awesome spec. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Factory painted top not wrapped. It's a real subtle matte finish it's the same charcoal dark grey paint as the front, rear and side diffusers. Otis
It looks awesome, I was going to do that to me coupe but so many people say the matte will be difficult to maintain etc. How do you find maintenance on the matte paint? Do you find it to scratch? Any input would be awesome!
Just put a wrap on it. The wrap are so much better than paint when it comes to matte, because the paint needs to be an even layer all the way. If the paint is thicker or thinner in some areas it will stand apart. The wrap gives you a smooth, even surface. Also the wrap protects the real paint and you can always remove it and bring the car to stock if you're considering to sell it - you can't do that with a paint. Another issue is that matte paint can get dust and specks more easily. Not to mention the price being cheaper on the wrap side. ))
Maintenance is real easy. Soap and water. No wax. Detail spray is ok. Like I said it's not a coarse matte like a Gallardo paint job. It's very smooth much like the paint on the plastic. Almost like it has no clear coat. Hard to describe. It's definitely not like rough matte, but not shiny like clear coat paint. Dealer recommended it. I'd probably wrap the top too since some of these paint schemes are trendy if you are on the fence. Otis
Thanks Otis! I appreciate it. I might just do the wrap in case in the future I dont want the two-toned look. I got a couple months to think about it, so Ill think about it, but your cars looks awesome, I really cant see myself not wanting the black roof, i love the look.
I am going to do this on my '13 Spider. My cars: 2013 Ferrari 458 Spider 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet ........Only 2 worth mentioning.
1029 days since Tuesday October 29 2013 a Tuesday 2 years 9 months and 24 days from today (the previous post) Enjoy your engine cover.
Official scorekeeper is definitely on the ball today!!. My cars: 2013 Ferrari 458 Spider 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet ........Only 2 worth mentioning.
Cleaver concept but even after 1029 days out on the market it still falls short. I'd rather see the Ferrari name... Image Unavailable, Please Login
I'd rather see both, but if your not getting one you won't have that problem so it's all good! My cars: 2013 Ferrari 458 Spider 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet ........Only 2 worth mentioning.
Then you're out of luck because the engine is too far forward for you to see anything meaningful except a bit of plumbing.
Doesn't appear like much has been achieved - those few parts exposed are probably better left covered. The engine is the hero.
Just glad you felt a thread this old was worth bumping with a declaration of your purchase. (not to mention the later edit) Be sure to sit at the popular table in the lunch room today.
There are always new people getting into the 458 world and many do not even know this is an option. I'm always grateful for when people bring up old stuff because unfortunately I am not able to catch everything as soon as it goes up. If every thread was 1 and done, none of us would learn anything. I'm very sorry this was so offensive to you. There is good news for you though!!!!!! You no longer have to post if you get a new exhaust, lower your car, change your wheels or anything else because you will just be bringing up old news and threads and I will save you from getting chastised for it, that is of course ONLY unless you do something to your car that no one on the planet has ever heard of. My only regret in all this is that someone didn't bump the thread earlier so I would have known that this option even existed and I would have done it earlier. Stupid me though......I guess I should have just searched for something that I didn't even know existed. I'm new to this world and just not as smart as you yet. I think bumping this thread is a hell of a lot smarter than starting a new one, but then that's how dummies like me think. Fair warning though......if I do or am going to do something new to my car, I'm probably going to post it so pass me right by for the old news and I will probably bump a thread. I'm getting my car lowered also in a week or two, and will post pics and bump a thread so don't open and be aghast.
