The Mayor does not tell it like it is but what he thinks. And an honest opinion is very valuable for us. As far as I can understand is The Mayor a designer. And a designer always has his own style. I know what I'm talking about. We have two designers in our company. I sometimes see how the two of them have different opinions among themselves, how a project should look like. I look at both and we use the best details from everything. That does not mean that one of them is better or worse. It is only that everyone of us has his own taste and own style. Specially the opinion of The Mayor was very important for me because he saw this project of the hood with the eyes of an expert and spoke out about negative aspects. Things which we maybe not take into account, or mistakes in our products which we don't see. You know how it is. The own kids are always beautiful because we see them differently than a third person would. I'm happy that he pointed out to us the problem with the antenna. I received an original hood from Italy and this one has a small square hole. I didn't think about this and could not explain what this square hole was for, as my car does not have this. Now, we know and it seems that in the US there are many cars with this antenna. We must now find a solution where we can place this antenna. If anyone can give us some measurements on how big this antenna is, and maybe also how it looks from below underneath the black, plastic cover, then we would be very thankful. In Italy, we currently cannot contact anyone to order an antenna like this. They are only open again on 7th January and then we would loose a lot of time if we wait for them. Again, thanks to everyone. Kind regards, Antonio
+1 ... I think the stock look is a lot more classy and the window interrupts the design flow, so far I have not seen a pic that would have changed my mind, no matter the angle. With that said, No One could have done this better than Capristo, and its good to see them on the forum seeking owners opinions.
Very well said, I agreed 100%. The irony is, looks like the very guy who doesn't like your design (Mayor), might be the guy helping you on your antenna solution since his car has it.
Maybe he's going to actually buy a redesigned one ... or maybe not, perhaps you could scope out exactly what you design in the real world ??
My lips are sealed. Or, is it I want to forget the past??? Antonio; Check back on Friday. I'll post some details of the Sat Nav for you.
Really? Hot wheel's designer?! Maybe more like owner of Hot wheels Funny you mention that, yesterday I was just looking at a Hotwheel's giallo Italia spider that was on sale for $1, MSRP was $1.79. I would have bought it if it was Rosso.
Those pics are taken from the Ferrari Museo this past summer, most likely is the same car that you saw at Maranello, at the same location. What am I talking about, that is a 1 of 1, it must be the same car.........
Should be just an antenna and therefore passive. Should be unaffected by heat unless very high (where it could melt cable jackets, etc...). SV
Doh! I was reacting to a comment I thought I saw saying there were electronics in there, but in thinking about it, it's just an antenna.
Sorry it took longer to get the photos of the Sat Nav antenna (well, it's the holidays!) The antenna is held in place by some kind of metal plate. The metal is painted (or annodized) black. It may be aluminum. There are are few wires leading to the antenna. This also appears to be a kind of heat shield but it's hard to tell. It's held unto the to deck by some simple screws. I think for the clear window, it would be better to relocate the antenna to another place. This would cover up the only chance to see the intakes. I can't see anyone getting too excited to see the Sat Nav antenna under glass. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi I am new to this forum . My spider will arrive in 2 months time . I intend to order this hood just to make the tail a bit more entertaining. As compared to the cost of the carbon B pillar , this is already great value . I suppose Ferrari should make the retractable top transparent ( glass top ) which be stored under a glass hood/bonnet like the 430 spider. in that event , you will see the entire engine beneath !
