I just got my "new to me" 2013 458 Spider. It has a hesitation while moving. It feels almost like the motor has extra engine braking when you let off the gas. Almost a surging/braking feeling. What is it? once you are into the throttle it is fine. It is just very jerky feeling in the on/off gas positions. This can't be right. The car has only 2500 miles on it.

It might have a tune on it. Try taking it to the dealer to get the ECU reflashed.

Sounds to me like the ECU has lost the idle settings.

I can tell you my Maserati GT does this in sport mode. I think it's an engine braking function.
