I take it Oct and Nov allocations are spoken for, have you gotten calls from your dealers yet about Jan or Feb 2014 allocations? I am on the wait list and trying to see what the next allocations FNA is giving dealers these days??

Probably wont know on that for a little while. My understanding is that dealers know 2-3 months in advance on their allocations. Since this is the August layoff/break, I suspect not much will be accomplished or conveyed to them.

Please clarify what you mean by Oct, Nov allocations? I too have had my deposit in and was promised a Fall 2013 allocation with a Spring 1014 delivery.

Are you saying that if you are getting an Oct-Nov allocation the dealer tells you a couple months in advance?

I was told in June that I had an October build also. And to expect my car sometime in December. It's a 2014 Spider. Cannot wait!

Are you guys in the USA? Are you guys air-freighting your cars? I did air-freight and mine was built at the end of November last year and I received it (in North Carolina) the first week of January. Progress of getting cars through US Customs slows down around Xmas time as does availability of transport vehicles. It probably delayed mine by a week.

Of course I still had the town down a few times the first week!

In general, the dealer is given allocations 3 months out. Meaning, in January he is getting April build slots. In February the May slots, etc. Then cars show up roughly 3 months later. That is why the "6 month wait" is so frequently bandied about here. 6 months is roughly time from order accepted to driving bliss. It is true that periodically a dealer will get a call about an "extra" car that is made available to him. As those are random they don't follow the above algorithm.
The August break involves Ferrari SpA more than FNA. So, FNA is in contact with dealers to keep SpA pipeline full with orders during the break. It would be unusual for the factory to not have late October/ early November build schedule by now. I had an October build for my spider last year. It was confirmed before the August break. Ferrari's factory may be closed, but the allocation/build schedules are done before the break as it has been explained to me.
Plus, most importantly is that we are getting more cars not less cars. Ferrari may have reduced production to 7000 cars from roughly 7300 cars. But, we now get 30% not 25% of the production run. Quick math says we now get 2100 cars vs 1875.
I hope you guys get your allocations soon. Waiting with no input on time frame is the absolute worst.
