I'm interested on how many 458 spiders were produced in total as I have noticed that since we bought ours just before winter last year, the value in the secondhand 458 spiders in Switzerland have gone up by at least 10%. I know the cars are not old enough to start appreciating in value, however a standard red 458 spider with the NA engines must be a thing to collect soon. Unless it is simply easier and cheaper to buy these cars just before winter

Very simply. The 458 spider is the last Ferrari spider designed by Pininfarina. Is the last Model with
Atmosferic Motor. Is the last V8 with a race physical sound.

In Geneva Autoshow 2015 and the order of my spider
an Ferrari Official confirmed to me that spider are built 4500 -5000 ex

458 spider is for next Year a Collector Ferrari major Piece!!!

was surprised to learn that only 10% of 458 spiders have racing seats - which is odd to me given how great those seats are - but either way, the point about last pininfarina designed spider is interesting/significant given how distinct their designs are from all others. Ferrari misses them.

That being said, I think that the 488 spider's design is very attractive, and imho
the Centro Stile's best effort to date

A beautiful car but the last introduced NA V8 model to date was the Speciale Aperta which does not carry the Pininfarina badge. Prior to that was the Speciale (also non PF) and then prior to that the 458 Spider. All very special Ferraris.

I think there may be an argument from Ferrari that Pininfarina "Designed the 458"

Directly from the PF website: "The Ferrari 458 Spider is the evolution of a previous, highly successful model, the two-seater 458 Italia berlinetta, which was also designed by Pininfarina."

There's a long list of modern Ferraris discussed as well. You will have to dig deeper into other publications for models where there was only collaboration between the designers.

Also the PF badge is not longer on the cars beginning with the Speciale.
