I've searched and read all the threads I can find, but still can't seem to get this problem fixed,,, Ok, so lets say I am listening to my satellite radio. All of my presets are programmed, and I changed my channel listing to just show presets. So now, when the stereo is shown on the right side screen, I can turn the big knob on the right control panel and see my presets as well as select them. The problem comes when I hold the 'back' button (far right button) down. I do this so I can actually show the speedometer and see how fast I am driving. Obviously, this changes the right screen from stereo to my speedometer. Now, I clearly cannot use the big knob to rotate they my presets. I have only found that the rocker switch on the rear of the steering wheel on the right side will change my satellite radio stations. Problem is, this rocker goes thru ALL of the sat stations, not just my presets. It does basically the same with the radio. As can be imagined, this is a massive pain in the arse as there are tons of sat stations that I don't care to flip thru. Likewise, I don't want to scan thru the regular fm radio stations all the time either... Help?
I have 2 things to say. Unfortunately, neither one is exceptionally helpful! I had a 2010 coupe. It was a very early one. As such, when I filled out a survey I complained about several things. The preset issue was one of them. I specifically complained of presets not really being presets as you described. Once you pick one, 3-4 steps to get back to presets. Then you only get one station again. And so on. In my car even wheel toggle still scrolls through each station. Actually got a call from a fairly high up Italian with Ferrari. Andrea Bassi I believe was his name. He asked specifically about what I was experiencing and why I didn't like this. Explanation is and was quite simple. My 2013 spider has same issue. Shows you how much weight my opinion carried! But, I remember reading on Fchat about someone who figured out how you can avoid going through all presets. Unfortunately I can't recall where I read that post. Hopefully author will read yours and reply. Or, you can try various searches here about this and find post. Other option is YouTube search. Huge number of Ferrari tutorials there . Sorry for being useless. Best
Take a look at post #10 in this thread: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/458-italia/382856-458-infotainment-system-help.html I haven't tried this method so I can't verify it myself. I use the voice reco. to simply ask for the station I'm interested e.g. push the VR button behind the steering wheel and say 'bloomberg' or 'jazz' and the system tunes to Bloomberg Radio or Real Jazz respectively. I agree the presets operation could be much better.
