458 Sticky Refinishing.....

    Replacing with new is always an option if the parts are available, in many cases they are not in they also are more expensive (in many cases) to our refinishing. In some cases, our refinishing costs more as this is a boutique service and not production. However, new parts will fail again, ours will not.

    Regarding the R&R of the parts - you would be surprised - many guys like to tinker and do that themselves. For ones that don't, yes, dealers and independents can do the R&R. Honestly, the labor estimate you received sounds high to me. If you send me an email (email please and not PM), I might be able to locate a tech in your area who could help with the R&R.

    Would the sticky buttons issue be a warranty repair item if the car was still under the original factory warranty? I have a few months left with full warranty on a 458 and my dealer has advised me that Ferrari won’t fix sticky buttons under the factory warranty. Doesn’t sound right to me. I’m in Australia and was wondering if anyone else has had this issue here and had it sorted under the warranty.

    Ferrari claims the issue is a result of poor selection of detail products. I'm told they released a service bulletin about it. I think you are out of luck.

    Absolutely ridiculous that a brand that charges the amount they do for there cars refuses to repair a fault with there product. If this was a Toyota they would probably fix it. Actually if it was a Toyota you probably would not have the problem to start with.
    Is the sticky Rx fix available in Australia?

    Hello Guys,

    We finished this 458 control pod yesterday for a shop.

    This is fully refinished, not just cleaned - fully disassembled, stripped to bare plastic and coated with our hard touch coatings that will never fail again. No decals, no paint masks, only laser etched graphics from Sticky RX as done by the OEM :)

    How can a 5 year old car in the 458 already need this! Ferrari needs ri improve it’s quality or hire u guys!

    Just got a nearly complete set of 458 Italia parts in from Ferrari of Houston. Great dealership would makes the car right! :)

    Sigh. My car has quite a few sticky buttons. Seems like the old owner took care of some of the buttons are they are now hard plastic but the less used ones such as the side mirror control or the gas cap/frunk release and the seat adjustments are absolutely sticky. I hate touching them. Biggest issue is finding a shop willing to disassemble the parts to get refinished...

    Any ideas where to get it disassembled in Atlanta? Have you worked with Ferrari of Atlanta before?

    My HVAC, tach surround, seat controls and main/VDA area are bad. I’m not thrilled with the idea of spending thousands to fix it, but to me this issue really cheapens the car.

    I am going in for service in the next two months, so I might push to solve this problem at that time.
