458 transmission noise

    It appears my 2012 458 has developed some transmission whine. Had not noticed this until about 2000 miles. Dealer says this is normal.

    Have any of you 458 owners noticed a low transmission running gear whining sound.

    Only noticeable at low RPMs and speed. like 30 mi./h as your coming to a stop or low RPM constant speeds?

    Find it unusual that it wasn't there at the beginning and has developed over time. maybe a break in issue?

    I haven't noticed this on my 2012 that has about 1,600 miles on it.

    When my California developed a whine the DCT failed.
    Swapping a box is No problem under warranty.

    Have your dealer check your vin and see if your gearbox is affected. If so change under warranty.
    Same problem with mine only 1200 miles.
