Here’s my question. In manual mode, and in race mode, when upshifting - sometimes it seems the computer lags to shift to the next gear. It could be 1-2 or 2-3, randomly happens once in a while. maybe this is dependent on what rpm you are at but wondering if this ever happen to anyone else. Again in race mode, manual mode. In auto this never happens. I’ve also heard you can reset stuff by disconnecting battery. Ideas?

You should see if you can get the solenoids checked. I believe the dealer can run a test on them.

If the engine is cold it will do this.

I know I’ve been told the car adapts to your driving style but I don’t know what the driving style was of the previous owner before me. Is there a combination of buttons or a way to reset the computer so it can clear out and re-learn my driving style?

Again, Everything is fine with the car but sometimes when I hit the right paddle to go to the next gear, it doesn’t shift as quick as my pulling the paddle and sometimes delayed (race mode/manual mode)

Full reset is possible but go to an Indi, Ferrari agency don’t know how to do it

You may be lifting off the accelerator very slightly as you initiate the shift. I have noticed this happening if driving aggressively and feel that I’m gaining more speed than I wanted, I slightly back off accelerator as grabbing next gear and get a weird pause in the upshift.
Did you drive an F1 tranny before the DCT? Sometimes that subtle habit is hard to break.

Yes, the first thing I would do is reset the ECU's by disconnecting the battery and then reconnect it following the reconnection procedure in the manual.

I personally never use the auto mode. It sucks so bad that it's comical if you ask me. Just drive in manual mode, aggressively, and the shifts should be sharp and crisp on the 458.

Agreed. I’ve noticed this delay a few times and it’s always at times where I may have been hesitating with my right foot a little or something changed around me right as I was about to shift.
